Hey Grannnyyy! It’s recently occured to me that we have never officially decided on GrannyyyCon details. Mary told me that we could possibly use her house as the “Nursing Home” for GrannyyyCon 2013. Mary lives in Florida where a good amount of Grannyyy already live, so I think its a pretty good location. We were thinking we could have it after Christmas. It would give a lot of us almost a year to plan and save. Mary said she is able to host around 15 people. We just need Grannyyy approval before we start planning anything.

Hey Grannyyycon goers!

I sent out a long email last night. Please check your email and get back to me ASAP with the information that I asked for. It’s important that you read the entire email. As soon as I have all of the information, I can start planning out a flexible schedule for grannyyycon! There are only 10 days left before people start arriving so I need the info ASAP. I recently just got a new cellphone number and lost my entire address book so even if you’re driving in, you’re going to have to give me your number again.

We’re GRANNYYY. This is the tumblr we use to organize everything Vidcon/Grannyyycon related. More info about us:

There are well over 100 people part of grannyyy and more people are always joining. Most of the members are ages 18-25 but we have some as young as 14 and as old as early 30s. We have about 40-50 active members that regularly participate in grannyyy projects!

We have a podcast (that can also be found on itunes), we do graphics projects, Secret Santa at Christmas, we raised money to sponsor a grannyyy member a trip to Vidcon, a twitter where grannyyy members get quoted out of context, when grannyyy members are in contests we rally together to vote for and promote them, we do birthday videos for many of the members, etc.

Basically, grannyyy is an awesome group of friends that actually cares about each other and support each other.

There are two ways to become part of GRANNYYY:

  • Be invited! A lot of people were invited to join by other grannyyy members. I was invited to join back in July and have been a member ever since!
  • Befriend a grannyyy member. Follow them on YouTube or Twitter and let them know you’re not a creeper. A bunch of people will tweet out Google Plus hangouts. There have been a bunch of members that weren’t personally invited (like Josh or Riley) but followed a G+ link and now they’re active grannyyy members.

Q: Who’s going to be at LAX in the morning of the 24th?

What times will people that will be at LAX on the 24th be there? If we’re all around the same time, we should try to take the same skybus to Genevieve. I’ll be taking the 11:00 one unless people will be around for the 12:30 one or something.

UPDATE: From Genevieve

Hello all!

My dad just informed me that he is probably going to rent a hotel room for two nights. It’s about 5ish blocks from my house, easy to walk to. He figures that we can have half of the people here and half there at nights. Mostly so then people will actually have a chance to take showers after traveling and the beach day. As I’ve mentioned before, we live in an old house (from the 30’s) and we have temperamental plumbing, plus the water heater doesn’t heat up fast enough for 20+ showers a day. He said that we can all hangout/party here until midnight-ish, and people can leave their luggage here. Also, it’s to keep our landlord from freaking out about how many people are here, he lives next door.

Not really the original plans but everyone getting showers sounds much nicer to me.

UPDATE: From Genevieve about Grannyyycon

FYI: My dad just requested me to cap off the attendees at the current number. It’s at 15 people plus 5 for one night. They’re getting worried that we really won’t have enough room and a few other concerns that I won’t go into. If you do not intend on going to Grannyyycon, let me know ASAP so the spot can be freed up. The last day to RSVP to my house is June 10th. I’m sorry guys that I have to change the number of attendees, it wasn’t my choice. If this is a problem, please talk to me privately. At this point, I haven’t heard about anyone else thinking about coming to my house who isn’t on the RSVP list, if this is not the case talk to me (Genevieve) privately.

Also, I’m going to need everyone to give me their emails so I can send out information (like my home address, some basic guidelines, etc). There’s some things that I want to tell everyone but I don’t want to broadcast it over tumblr. Plus not everyone sees tumblr right away. Additionally, I’d appreciate it if everyone gave me their phone number and trip itinerary once you guys have it.
